The attention of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Lagos State Chapter has been drawn to a misleading and mischievous press release issued by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
The APC press release had it that the PDP has perfected plans to pay each eligible voter the sum of N5000 in the forthcoming elections scheduled to hold on Saturday 5th December, 2020.
It also claimed that PDP had been harassing peace loving people of the state, with the intention to cause violence and hijack ballot boxes at the elections.
They also alleged that PDP has been mobilizing hoodlums and miscreants from within and outside the state to disrupt the electoral process in polling areas.
In response to the Press release, the Lagos State PDP ably led by Engr Adedeji Doherty have stated that they are well aware of the tricks and tactics of the APC, they consequently debunked the report and regarded it as mischievous and intended to mislead the general public.
In a statement released, Engr Doherty stated that “We have put in place all necessary machinery as we are watching APC very closely”.
He further stated that “Our security reports indicate that it is the APC that have put plans in place to intimidate the voters, while also having intentions to cause violence and hence stuff ballot boxes*.
He said “We all know the stock-in-trade of the APC, they are specialist in vote buying and ballot box stuffing”.
“We in the PDP as well as every well meaning citizen of Lagos State know that APC has been rejected in the state, this is however making them jittery and hence their utterances”.

He further stated that the APC well know that they would be rejected at the forthcoming election”.
“It is a well known fact that the power is transient and the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District as well as Kosofe Constituency II already know that they have been betrayed by the APC and have hence resolved to move on”.
Engr Doherty stated that the scorecards in the whole of Lagos State clearly indicate that the All Progressive Congress (APC) have failed all and sundry.
He stated that the Lagos State PDP is on red alert and hereby put all security operatives in the state on notice, that all focus should be on the five LGA’s that would be involved in the bye elections.
He said “We also want to place it on record that our security reports have indicated that there are strange movements of APC youths from other LGA’s and surprisingly from Ogun State into the five LGA’s, this is with the view to forment trouble during the elections”.
“We hereby want to warn the APC and most especially the Chairman of NURTW in Lagos State, MC Oluomo to stay away from the LGA’s in Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe Constituency II.”
“We in the PDP are peace loving and are not known for blood shedding during elections, we all know what the presence of MC Oluomo and his boys represent and we would not accept their interference in this elections”.
We hence wish to call the Inspector General of Police to wade in and caution APC and the NURTW in Lagos State”.
He assured that come what may victory is assured in the Lagos East Senatorial District and the Kosofe Constituency II House of Assembly bye elections on Saturday 5th December, 2020.
