Super Falcons of Nigeria scale through a 0-0 draw against Canada after a tough test of time at the opening fixture of their game.
The African giants suffered a red card and survived a penalty kick inf the game with Canada.
The heroine for Nigeria was goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who saved a penalty kick awarded to Canada in the 48 minute following a VAR review by the referee.
As the game ended about 5.30 a.m in the early hours of Friday morning, Chiamaka got down on her knees in appreciation of the draw, which is the country’s first in the 27 games the country has played in the competition.

Nigeria midfielder, Deborah Abiodun, was shown a red card in the seventh minute of the eight minute extra time at the end of the game when a VAR review determined her tackle of a Canadian player as rough.
Nigeria go on to play co-host, Australia in the next match.
