EFCC media trial on alleged Kogi N20bn bailout fund linked to plot against North Central’s 2023 presidential bid
The panic withdrawal of the suit against the Kogi State government by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has been found to be fishy with a lot of expositions.
Experts reviewing the EFCC’s claim that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has received N19.3 billion Kogi salary bailout funds allegedly domiciled in an account with the Sterling Bank, found that the EFCC’s had failed to follow the standard of its operations by not making public its findings from the investigation it had supposedly done as it promised the court.
The group of experts and undercover reporters making their findings known in Abuja also revealed several angles to the EFCC versus Kogi State government bailout saga.
Recall that the Kogi State Government had in October, challenged the EFCC to come out with the report of its investigation on the purported N20 billion bailout funds over which a Lagos High Court reportedly froze the state’s account in August.
The sudden and panic conslusive line drawn by the EFCC as it has claimed to have recovered the money gave room for digging through which it was discovered that the EFCC is being used as part of the plot to deny north central presidential ticket as well as the plot to give north central the chairmanship of the All Progressive Party (APC).
It was discovered that the supposedly financial crime fighting commission is being doctored by Lawal Garuba who claims to be house boy or close confident and or an ally to Mamman Dauda, working with Governor of Kebbi State, Mohammad Baderu of Jigawa state and Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state.
The plot is said to be focused on the promotion of George Akume of Benue state and Sen 313 from the north central in order to deny north central the presidential ticket.
The revealers documented that the plot is heavily connected to the plan to give Ahmed Tinubu the 2023 presidential ticket, a move that is not supported by several Nigerian leaders and even international bodies as they all call for younger age for the presidency.
It was reported that Tinubu has deployed resources to governors above to distort the Yahaya Bello campaign and form corruption cases against him, using EFCC.
It’s believed by the plotters that having Yahaya Bello towering name tarnished could truncate his ambition.
The north central, south east especially and young Nigerians should be wary of the plot to impose Tinubu on Nigerians. More so, Nigerians should have listening ears to the cry of Ibrahim Babangida and others calling for younger people to take over the leadership of the country.
