A woman died on Saturday night after she was reportedly electrocuted at Hustle and Bustle, an Abuja-based club belonging to Nigerian billionaire Obi Cubana.
Responding to the incident, the popular socialite temporarily shut the club building, expressing sadness and offering prayers on Instagram with a set of emojis.
The management of Hustle and Bustle said: “PUBLIC STATEMENT. We are closed till further notice. This is due to the loss of our esteemed client.
“We are deeply saddened by this situation and need time to heal from it. Our prayers are with the families of the lost soul. May her soul Rest In Peace. We sympathise with the family on this unbearable loss.
“Kindly bear with us as we pass through this storm. ❤️”
Commenting underneath the statement, the 46-year-old businessman wrote: “🙏🙏🙏😢”
Also reacting, one Instagram user said: “Cubana group is setting the pace in nightlife industry, this is the first of its kind. May God rest the soul of the departed.”
A second added: “So if you lose a client you close up? Dangote, Shoprite, Spar, NNPC, Total, Chevron, God is Good Motors, etc can you hear this?”
The identity of the deceased has yet to be revealed but we gathered that she was “electrocuted by one of the metals on the floor of the premises”.
A friend to the brother of the deceased tweeted about the incident, saying “I woke up to this tweet and thought it was a piece of sad news. Until my friend called me to tell me that his sister died at Hustle and Bustle early this morning”.
