Irate workers today at the Workers Day celebrations holding at the Eagle Square booed the federal government and the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige when their representative attempted to deliver a goodwill message.
The workers called him unprintable names.
The workers were protesting non payment of their salaries including April salary and the delay in other entitlements. They were also protesting poor working conditions and the FG’s insensitivity to the plight of pensioners.
Attempts by the Nigeria Labor Congress president, Ayuba Wabba to pacify the workers were unsuccessful.
As at press time, the venue of the celebrations was still rowdy as officials try to calm frayed nerves.
