Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla in Epe, Lagos.
The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school whose name is Mr Oyesola and Mr Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the school students.
There are conflicting figures given by teachers who preferred anonymity.
While some said hundreds of students were abducted, others put it at dozens.
Lagos State Police Chief, Fatai Owoseni, has confirmed the ugly incident.
Owoseni has also drafted crack detectives from the State Police Command to the scene of the incident with a firm directive to comb the area and set the abductees free as soon as possible.
Presenting the case to the House of Representative, the member representing Epe constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to swing into action, while treating the case as a matter of urgency.
The House in turn, suspended other proceedings to attend to the matter and as such adopted the motion for the police to mobilize and rescue the principals and students safe.
